A BRIEF HISTORY ABOUT A.N.COLLEGE

Aditya Narayan College, Dumka, a co-educational unit of S.K.M University, was established in 1979 by the intellectuals and the social activists who lively felt for it because S.P. College & S.P. Mahila College, Dumka (the constituent units of S.K.M university, Dumka) were constrained to accommodate both boys and girl students coming from the surrounding areas populated by ST, SC, Pahariyas and others. The college is situated on the bank of Pusaro River having 19(Nineteen Bighas) 02(Two Kathas) and 11(Eleven dhuro) of land. The college gets financial assistance from M.P., M.L.A., M.L.C., U.G.C. and the Govt. Of Jharkhand. We have hostel facilities for pahariyas and OBC constructed by the welfare Dept... Of the Govt. Of Jharkhand and are likely to start the construction work of Girls’ Hostel. We have started working towards digitization of the institution for upgrading it to provide better facilities like wifi, LAN, E-Lib, etc to our students (Especially SC, ST, OBC and Other BC). We have 5 Units of N.S.S which plays a major role in increasing the awareness of the people of nearby villages by conducting various programmes for their upliftment. We have meritorious students who have received medals & trophies in various curricular and co-curricular activities, sports, organized by the S.K.M.University, Dumka. One among them is Mr. Ashish Gopal Murmu, who is state topper and received a cash award of 50,000/- from Hon’ble Chancellor, Late Dr. Saiyad Ahmad. Our Students have not only proved themselves in the Govt. Services but also in Public Service and Politics.
